About Us

We help people recover from PTSD

We leverage the power of guitar playing to help those with PTSD release their emotions in a healthy way, rather than a negative way through our program, Frets N' Vets.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to alleviating PTSD symptoms through the healing power of music.

Our mission is to provide free guitar therapy to veterans and civilians struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.

We aim to grow into a nationwide organization, helping millions combat PTSD through innovative music therapy techniques.

Our Story

Fifty years ago, our founder taught guitar to veterans involved in the Vietnam War, realizing that music could heal invisible wounds. As veterans learned to play, they found relief from PTSD symptoms. He found that:

  • Nightmares lessened
  • Stress decreased
  • Rebuilt relationships

They found confidence and peace in creating music. This transformative experience inspired our Frets N' Vets program.

Today, we continue using guitar therapy to help veterans and civilians overcome PTSD. Our approach turns trauma into healing. Join us in our mission to change lives through the power of music.

Mark Jobson

Mark Jobson's journey began 50 years ago in Fort Hood, Texas. He began instructing guitars to his team.

However he soon found out that guitar playing significantly helped the soldiers "shell shock" symptoms ease.

Mark Jobson, Founder of Freedom Sounds

His Realization

This "shell shock" condition was actually PTSD, and he found a revolutionary breakthrough to help people recover from it.

Evidence

Soon, one of the veteran's confessions that guitar helped him sleep without nightmares was a turning point. There was real proof.

Dedication

When he found this out, he started researching even more on how guitar therapy helps people with PTSD.

Present

Now, he dedicates all of his time to helping people with PTSD recovery through his program, Frets N' Vets. Join him in this journey against PTSD.
